Companion Animals

American Kennel Club (AKC)—Founded in 1884, the AKC is dedicated to upholding the integrity of its registry, promoting the sport of purebred dogs and breeding for type and function. The AKC and its affiliated organizations also advocate for the purebred dog as a family companion, advance canine health and well-being, work to protect the rights of all dog owners, and promote responsible dog ownership.

Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA)—-The largest registry of pedigreed cats in the world, the association promotes the welfare of all cats through progressive actions ranging from legislative advocacy to the support of feline research and providing breeder assistance, and maintaining a focus on the quality of breed standards and validity of registration and pedigrees.

Human-Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI)—-HABRI is dedicated to establishing through science, education and advocacy, the vital role of companion animals in the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities.

The International Cat Association (TICA)—The world’s largest genetic registry of pedigreed cats, and the world’s largest registry of household pets, TICA is a membership association of breeders, exhibitors, and cat lovers.  

United Kennel Club (UKC)—The largest all-breed registry in the world and an alternative to dog registries that focused solely on conformation, UKC celebrates bonds, rewarding ability, and preserving the virtue of pedigree.

World Pet Association (WPA)—- World Pet Association is dedicated to uniting the pet community through knowledge, integrity, innovation, and leadership.

Research

AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF)—Created by the AKC in 1995, CHF is dedicated to advancing the health of all dogs and their owners by funding scientific research and supporting the dissemination of health information to prevent, treat and cure canine disease. 

American Association of Lab Animal Science (AALAS)—A membership association of professionals in academia, government, and private industry who are dedicated to the humane care and treatment of laboratory animals, as well as the quality research that leads to the scientific gains that benefit people and animals.

Americans for Medical Progress (AMP)—An advocacy organization for biomedical research that builds public understanding and appreciation for necessary and humane animal research.

American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)—An advocacy organization dedicated to protecting, promoting and advancing the veterinary profession

National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and MedicineComprised of private, nonprofit institutions that provide expert advice on some of the most pressing challenges facing the nation and the world to  shape sound policies, inform public opinion, and advance the pursuit of science, engineering, and medicine.

National Institutes of Health (NIH)—A division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, it is the nation’s medical research agency, making important discoveries that improve health and save lives.   

Agriculture

Agriculture Network Information Collaborative (AgNIC)—A voluntary alliance of members based on the concept of “centers of excellence” that provides access to freely available, evaluated digital content and quality services, including subject area expects, for agriculture, food, and natural resources information. 

Animal Agriculture AllianceAn industry-united, nonprofit membership organization of individuals, companies, and associations that is dedicated to protecting animal agriculture and preserving consumer choice in the marketplace.

Livestock ConservancyThe leading organization in the United States working to protect over 150 breeds of livestock and poultry from extinction. 

Protect the HarvestCreated to defend and preserve American freedoms and to support farmers, ranchers, outdoor enthusiasts, and animal owners, the organization focuses on educating the public about animal rights and other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that pose a threat to agriculture and animal ownership.

United Egg Producers (UEP)—A Capper-Volstead cooperative of U.S. farmers working collaboratively to address legislative, regulatory, and advocacy issues impacting egg production, through active farmer-member leadership, a unified voice, and partnership across the agriculture community. 

U.S. Cattlemen’s Association (USCA)—An organization committed to concentrating its efforts in Washington, DC, to further the interests of cattle producers on mandatory country of origin labeling, international trade, market competition, reform on the mandatory beef checkoff, animal health, welfare and identification, private property rights, and other issues that affect the U.S. cattle industry.  

U.S. Department of Agriculture (UDSA)—Made up of 29 agencies and offices with nearly 100,000 employees who serve the American people at more than 4,500 locations across the country and abroad, the USDA provides leadership on food, agriculture, natural resources, rural development, nutrition, and related issues based on public policy, the best available science, and effective management. 

U.S. Poultry & Egg AssociationThe world’s largest and most active poultry organization, membership includes producers and processors of broilers, turkeys, ducks, eggs, and breeding stock, as well as allied companies. 

Outdoor Sports

Outdoor Amusement Business Association (OABA)—The largest North American trade association for the outdoor amusement industry, including state and local agricultural fairs, such as 4H competitions, circuses, and other animal exhibitions.

Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA)—The largest rodeo organization in the world, it sanctions events in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil.

Hunting/Fishing/Conservation

Ducks Unlimited (DU)—The world’s leader in wetlands and waterfowl conversation, DU is a grassroots volunteer-based organization that conserves, restores, and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America’s waterfowl.  

Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF)—- The mission of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is to ensure the future of elk, other wildlife, their habitat, and our hunting heritage.  

Sportsmen’s AllianceThe nation’s leading advocate for sportsmen across the country, the Alliance fights to protect and advance our outdoor heritage of hunting, fishing, trapping, and shooting in all 50 state legislatures, in the courts, in Congress, and at the ballot box.   

U.S. Fish and Wildlife ServiceAn agency of the U.S. federal government within the U.S. Department of the Interior dedicated to working with others to conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people
